"PT-125, astern as usual". In addition to the love for the ocean, my grandfather
often reminisced about racing fellow PT boats. He would smile broadly when he
told me of the tricks and tweaks the crews would do to the engines to out-race
the others. He wouldn't tell us about the actual horrors of war, just "the good
stuff" sun, racing, ocean... Of course we got the impression that being in the
Navy was like going to summer camp.
